Voice AI powerhouse ElevenLabs has officially entered the generative music market with the launch of ElevenMusic, a new iOS application designed to create and discover AI-generated compositions. The app, which became available on April 1 after a brief testing period on the App Store, signals a strategic shift for the company as it moves beyond voice modeling to compete directly with industry incumbents like Suno and Udio.

Diversifying Beyond Voice

By expanding into music generation, ElevenLabs aims to insulate itself against the potential commoditization of standard AI audio models. The startup, which recently secured a $500 million Series C funding round at an $11 billion valuation, is aggressively building a comprehensive suite of creative tools. This evolution follows the company’s previous forays into the space, including the release of a commercially safe music-generation model last August and a collaborative album produced with industry professionals earlier this year.

ElevenMusic offers a freemium model that prioritizes accessibility. Currently, users can generate up to seven songs daily using simple natural language prompts, with granular control over lyrics, song duration, and stylistic elements. The platform’s interface mirrors established streaming services, featuring:

  • Social Discovery: Users can browse, listen to, and remix tracks created by the community.
  • Curated Content: The app includes live stations, pre-created albums, and daily mixes categorized by moods like “Focus,” “Energy,” and “Cosmic.”

For power users, ElevenLabs has introduced a Pro subscription priced at $9.99 per month (or $95.90 annually). This tier significantly expands capabilities, allowing for up to 500 tracks per month and providing 500 GB of storage, alongside access to an expanded library of moods and styles.

The company’s roadmap suggests a broader ambition to dominate the creative AI landscape.
