Despite the addition of complex AI processing, Opera maintains that the browser remains lightweight. Opera Mini, which debuted in 2005, continues to prioritize data compression, ensuring that the new AI features do not significantly increase the application’s footprint or compromise data-saving performance.

The browser has surpassed one billion lifetime downloads on Android, boasting an active user base of over 100 million people worldwide. According to analytics firm Appfigures, the browser has already recorded 7.1 million new downloads globally this year.
