Amazon officially expanded its hardware lineup this Wednesday, opening preorders for the new, ultra-slim Fire TV Stick HD and its premium Ember Artline television series. These releases signal a strategic push by the tech giant to consolidate its entry-level streaming market while directly challenging high-end lifestyle displays like Samsung’s Frame TV.

The New Fire TV Stick HD: Thinner and Faster

Positioned as the definitive entry-level device, the new Fire TV Stick HD replaces both the previous Fire TV Stick and the Fire TV Stick Lite. Amazon has engineered this model to be approximately 30% slimmer than its predecessor, prioritizing portability without sacrificing internal power.

Performance upgrades are central to the new hardware. The device boasts a 30% increase in operational speed, ensuring faster app loading times. Connectivity has also been overhauled with the inclusion of Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, providing a more stable and efficient streaming experience.

AI Integration and Accessibility Enhancements

Both the new streaming stick and the Ember Artline TVs feature Amazon’s proprietary AI assistant, Alexa+. Available in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., this tool allows for intuitive voice commands, including searching for shows, gathering actor information, and controlling smart home ecosystems.

Furthermore, Amazon is rolling out an “Adaptive Display” setting. Designed to improve accessibility, this feature intelligently scales text, menus, and on-screen artwork to enhance legibility. Users will be able to customize these sizing options in the coming months.

Ember Artline: A Direct Challenge to Designer TVs

First teased at CES 2026, the Ember Artline television series is now available for preorder. These 4K QLED displays, which support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, feature a minimalist 1.5-inch profile designed to blend seamlessly into home interiors.

A major aesthetic highlight is the modular design, which allows users to snap on one of 10 magnetic frames. Options include finishes such as Walnut, Ash, Teak, Matte White, and Pale Gold. To bolster the “art” aspect of the TV, Amazon introduced the “Match the Room” AI feature, which suggests artwork from a library of over 2,000 pieces to complement the user’s specific room decor.
