Cash App has officially rolled out a major fall update, headlined by the introduction of “Moneybot,” an AI-powered assistant designed to provide personalized financial insights. Alongside this AI integration, the company—owned by Jack Dorsey’s Block—is launching the “Cash App Green” benefits program and expanding its Bitcoin payment infrastructure.

Meet Moneybot: Your New AI Financial Analyst

Moneybot acts as a conversational interface for users to navigate their financial health. By asking specific questions, such as “Can you show me my monthly income, expenses, and spending patterns?”, users can receive automated reports on their account activity. Beyond simple tracking, the bot offers proactive suggestions, including bill-splitting prompts, Bitcoin balance checks, and payment requests.

Cameron Worboys, head of product design at Cash App, emphasized that the tool is engineered to move beyond raw data. “No two financial journeys are the same, so we’ve built Moneybot to learn each customer’s habits and tailor its suggestions in real-time,” Worboys stated. The feature is currently available to a select group of users, with a wider rollout expected in the coming months.

Expanding Bitcoin and Crypto Capabilities

Block continues to aggressively integrate Bitcoin into the Cash App ecosystem. Users can now utilize a new map feature to locate merchants that accept Bitcoin. Furthermore, the app enables payments in cryptocurrency using USD, leveraging the Lightning Network to facilitate transactions via QR codes without requiring users to hold the asset directly.

The company also confirmed plans to support stablecoin transactions, allowing customers to send and receive these assets through the app in the near future.

Cash App Green: A New Rewards Structure

The platform is overhauling its incentive model with the launch of “Cash App Green.” Eligibility for premium benefits now requires either $500 in monthly spending via the Cash App Card or Cash App Pay, or receiving direct deposits of at least $300 per month. This change is set to open these benefits to approximately 8 million accounts.

The updated rewards package includes several key financial advantages:

  • Increased Borrowing Limits: Up to $400 for first-time borrowers and a $300 limit increase for existing users.
  • Overdraft Protection: Free coverage of up to $200 for Cash App Card transactions.
  • Banking Perks: Free in-network ATM withdrawals and up to 3.5% APY on savings balances.
  • Personalized Offers: Five customized weekly store discounts.

Additionally, Cash App is extending a 3.5% APY to teen accounts without balance caps. The update also includes the expansion of the “Cash App Borrow” product to 48 states and the integration of Afterpay’s “buy now, pay later” (BNPL) services directly into the Cash App interface, removing the need for separate logins.
