X Revamps Verified Orgs: New Business Tiers and Pricing – Ankor Tech

X officially announced on Tuesday a strategic overhaul of its Verified Organizations program. The platform is splitting its premium subscription service for businesses and governments into two distinct categories: Premium Business and Premium Organizations, aiming to better tailor features and pricing to specific user needs.

Premium Business vs. Premium Organizations

The distinction between the two new tiers is defined by both function and visual identity. Premium Organizations is reserved for governments and multilateral entities, maintaining the recognizable grey checkmark. Conversely, Premium Business is designed to accelerate growth for companies of all sizes—from startups to global corporations—and features the signature gold checkmark.

Key Features of Premium Business

X is positioning Premium Business as a comprehensive growth suite. Beyond the gold checkmark, subscribers gain access to:

  • Advanced Security: Enhanced impersonation defense tools to protect brand integrity.
  • Operational Efficiency: Faster human support and real-time brand monitoring.
  • Talent Acquisition: Integrated hiring tools to streamline recruitment.
  • Exclusive Tech: Access to SuperGrok and other proprietary features.

Perhaps most notably, the platform is introducing a marketplace for “high-value handles.” While priority handles (inactive accounts) will be available for free to certain subscribers, rarer and more valuable inactive usernames will be offered for purchase.

Subscription Tiers and Pricing

The restructuring introduces a more granular pricing model for businesses:

  • Basic ($200/month): Provides essential tools to establish a professional presence on the platform.
  • Full Access ($1,000/month): Includes affiliate badges, priority support, impersonation defense, and early feature access.
  • Enterprise (Custom Pricing): Offers advanced tools and dedicated account management tailored to specific organizational objectives.

The Premium Organizations plan for government entities remains priced at $1,000 per month. To incentivize early adoption of these new tiers, X is currently offering a limited-time promotion where users can receive 100% of their subscription costs back in advertising credits.

Strategic Revenue Shift

This pivot reflects X’s ongoing effort to diversify revenue streams amidst ongoing volatility in its core advertising business. By introducing a lower-entry $200 tier, the company is clearly attempting to broaden its appeal to smaller businesses that were previously priced out of the verification ecosystem.

“X is the best place to grow your organization’s influence,” stated Seth Fuchs of X Engineering. “We’re building for organizations that want to move fast, stay relevant, and grow directly on the world’s town square.”
