Deezer officially launched My Deezer Year 2025 this Monday, delivering an early annual retrospective of user listening habits. By rolling out this feature ahead of competitors like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, the platform provides an immediate breakdown of favorite genres, top-played artists, albums, and tracks that defined the year for its global community.

A Cinematic Musical Experience
Moving away from the standard data-dump format, this year’s edition adopts a “romantic comedy” theme. The platform guides users through their music history as if they were the protagonist of a film, complete with narrative plot twists and iconic scenes like a “meet cute.”
The experience is structured into three distinct episodes:
- Meet Cute: Focuses on the new artists and discoveries made throughout 2025.
- Love Triangle: Highlights the top three most-played artists.
- Happily Ever After: Showcases ultimate favorite tracks and delivers a personalized playlist for continued enjoyment.
Enhanced Interactivity and Social Sharing
Unlike the 2024 edition, which challenged users by offering to “roast” or “hype” their musical taste, the 2025 version leans into interactive storytelling. The update also includes a personalized quiz feature, allowing users to test their compatibility with friends based on their unique listening preferences.

In a strategic expansion, Deezer is now allowing non-users to create their own quizzes by inputting their favorite genres, artists, and tracks. This move is designed to drive app downloads and increase social media visibility by encouraging broader engagement beyond the existing user base.
Global Listening Trends
Alongside the personal recaps, Deezer released global statistics for 2025, revealing that the average user spent 122.8 hours listening to music. During this period, the average listener streamed over 691 songs from 402 different artists and explored 357 new tracks. The feature is currently available for all users via the mobile app on both iOS and Android devices.
