Apple has officially announced the rollout of visionOS 26, the latest iteration of its operating system powering the Apple Vision Pro spatial computer. Revealed during WWDC, the update introduces significant enhancements for both consumer and enterprise users, ranging from interactive spatial widgets to hyper-realistic Personas and advanced collaboration tools.
Personalized Spatial Widgets

In visionOS 26, standard widgets evolve into spatial elements that integrate directly into your physical environment. Users can now tailor the size, color, and depth of these widgets to suit their workflow. New additions include a customizable clock, weather modules that sync with local conditions, quick-access music controls, and photo widgets that can expand into immersive panoramas or “windows to another space.”
Adding Depth to 2D Images

Apple is leveraging new AI algorithms to breathe life into static media. The updated Photos app utilizes computational depth to generate multiple perspectives for 2D images, creating an effect where users feel as though they can lean into the frame. This “spatial browsing” technology is also coming to Safari, allowing supported web articles to hide distractions and display inline photos that animate as the user scrolls. Developers are encouraged to integrate these spatial browsing capabilities into their own applications.
Advanced Personas for Natural Connection

The Persona feature, previously in beta, receives a major overhaul in visionOS 26. Apple has utilized volumetric rendering and machine learning to improve how avatars look in profile, while also increasing the accuracy of hair, eyelashes, and skin complexion. These high-fidelity Personas are generated on-device in mere seconds.
Collaborative Immersion

The new update emphasizes shared experiences, allowing users to watch movies or engage in spatial gaming with other headset users. This functionality extends to enterprise applications, such as the 3DLive app from Dassault Systèmes, which allows teams to visualize 3D designs collaboratively in real-time, whether in the same room or connecting remotely.
Enterprise APIs and Hardware Tools

Apple is deepening its enterprise focus with new APIs and improved device management. Organizations can now share a common pool of headsets, with user-specific data—including eye and hand tracking, prescriptions, and accessibility settings—securely synced via iPhone. Additionally, a new “for your eyes only” mode protects confidential materials, and the new Logitech Muse accessory provides precision input for 3D design and collaboration.
Expanded Language Support and Utility
visionOS 26 introduces broader Apple Intelligence support, adding languages such as French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. English support has also been expanded to Australia, Canada, India, Singapore, and the U.K.
Practical usability updates include “look to scroll,” which allows navigation of apps and websites using only eye movements. Furthermore, users can now unlock their iPhone while wearing the Vision Pro and relay incoming calls directly into the headset for a seamless transition between devices.
