Google officially took the wraps off the Pixel 10 Pro Fold during its “Made by Google 2025” event today. As the flagship of the new Pixel 10 lineup, the device introduces a sophisticated gearless hinge, a significant leap in AI capabilities powered by the Tensor G5 chip, and a refined hardware design starting at $1,799.

Revolutionary Design and Display
The standout hardware change is the new gearless hinge, which Google claims is twice as durable as its predecessor, rated for over 10 years of folding. This engineering feat has allowed for thinner bezels and a more expansive display experience. The device features an 8-inch inner “Super Actual Flex” display—the largest on any foldable—protected by re-engineered ultra-thin glass and dual layers of anti-impact film.
Complementing the inner screen is a larger 6.4-inch outer display. Both panels are 11% brighter than the previous generation, hitting a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. For the first time in the series, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold includes IP68 water and dust resistance.

Charging Innovation: Pixelsnap
Google has integrated Qi2 charging into the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, marking a first for foldables. The company introduced “Pixelsnap” magnetic technology, allowing users to attach the Pixelsnap Charger with Stand or the Pixelsnap Ring Stand for hands-free viewing, even while the device is fully unfolded.

Performance and AI Integration
At the heart of the device lies the Tensor G5 chip, Google’s most significant processor upgrade in five years. The new architecture features a TPU that is 60% more powerful and a CPU that is 34% faster on average. This chip is specifically optimized for machine learning, enabling the phone to run Google’s Gemini Nano model locally.
Users will have access to over 20 generative AI features at launch, including Gemini Live, Magic Cue, and enhanced photography tools like “Add Me” and “Best Take.”
Advanced Camera and Multitasking
The camera system comprises a 48MP wide lens, a 5x telephoto lens with up to 20x Super Res Zoom, and an ultrawide lens with Macro Focus. New software features include:
- Instant View: Review photos side-by-side on the inner screen as you shoot.
- Dual Screen Preview: Allows subjects to see themselves while you frame the shot.
- Enhanced Split Screen: Easily resize apps and drag-and-drop content like photos or links between applications.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is available in Moonstone and Jade, starting at $1,799 with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Preorders are open now, with general retail availability beginning October 9.
