Smart ring manufacturer Ultrahuman announced on Friday the acquisition of women’s health technology firm viO HealthTech. The strategic move aims to integrate sophisticated ovulation and menstrual cycle tracking capabilities into the Ultrahuman Ring AIR. While the financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed, the deal marks a significant expansion of the company’s wearable health ecosystem.
Introducing “Cycle and Ovulation Pro”
The core outcome of this acquisition is the launch of a new premium plug-in for the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, branded as “Cycle and Ovulation Pro.” This feature enables users to monitor their cycles with clinical-grade precision, receive fertility planning support through ovulation confirmation, and identify irregularities such as early or late ovulation.

Beyond tracking, the tool allows users to log symptoms and mood shifts, facilitating a deeper analysis of long-term wellness trends. The technology leverages a temperature-sensing algorithm refined over 15 years, originally developed for viO’s OvuSense fertility monitors. This system is backed by a robust dataset of over 260,000 cycles recorded via medical-grade sensors.
Addressing Diverse Health Needs
Ultrahuman emphasizes that its new tracking suite is designed to move beyond the limitations of standard 28-day cycle monitoring. Many existing platforms fail to support users with non-standard cycles, including those managing PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid disorders, or those experiencing non-bleeding patterns.

“Wearables will shape the future of health,” stated Rob Milnes, CEO of viO HealthTech. “We’re delighted to be able to bring OvuSense women’s health insights to a significantly wider audience via the Ultrahuman Ring AIR.”
Availability and Pricing
While the new premium “Cycle and Ovulation Pro” feature is now live, the company confirmed that the existing free “Cycle & Ovulation PowerPlug”—which provides foundational calendar-based predictions—will remain available to all users.
The premium version is currently available for purchase within the Ultrahuman app for $3.99 per month or $39.99 annually. The service is initially rolling out to users in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Australia, and Canada, with plans for a broader international expansion in the near future.
