According to reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the tech giant is currently evaluating four distinct aesthetic designs to determine the final product lineup.
Design Prototypes and Aesthetic Variety
The company is experimenting with a range of form factors to appeal to diverse consumer preferences. Current testing includes four specific frame styles:
- Large rectangular frames
- Slimmer rectangular frames, modeled after those worn by CEO Tim Cook
- Large oval or circular frames
- Small oval or circular frames
Beyond the physical structure, Apple is also exploring a sophisticated color palette, with black, ocean blue, and light brown currently under consideration.
Strategic Pivot from Vision Pro
This initiative represents a significant shift in Apple’s hardware strategy. While the company previously pursued ambitious goals for complex mixed and augmented reality devices—a roadmap that faced setbacks following the tepid market reception of the Vision Pro—these new glasses signal a more pragmatic approach.
