Google has officially upgraded its Circle to Search feature, enabling continuous, real-time translation as users scroll through content. Announced this Thursday, the update eliminates the previous need to restart the translation process every time the screen content changes, significantly streamlining how Android users interact with foreign-language media.

Seamless Translation Across Apps

Translation stands as one of the most frequently utilized functions within the Circle to Search ecosystem. Whether you are analyzing social media posts from international creators or navigating restaurant menus while traveling abroad, the tool provides immediate context. Previously, users were forced to manually re-trigger the translation whenever they swiped down or switched applications.

With this newly implemented continuous translation, the experience is now fluid. For instance, if you are browsing an Instagram feed filled with images containing foreign text, you can maintain the translation layer while scrolling through multiple posts seamlessly.

How to Activate the New Feature

Accessing the enhanced translation capability is straightforward:

  • Long-press the home button or navigation bar to trigger Circle to Search.
  • Tap the Translate icon.
  • Select the “scroll and translate” option to enable continuous processing.

Google confirmed that the rollout begins this week on Android, with priority deployment for select Samsung Galaxy devices.

Evolution of Circle to Search

Since its debut last year, Google has aggressively expanded the capabilities of Circle to Search. During the Samsung Unpacked 2025 event, the company introduced expanded AI Overviews for visual searches and one-tap shortcuts for URLs, email addresses, and phone numbers detected on the display.

This update follows the recent integration of AI Mode, which allows users to explore complex topics and pose follow-up questions directly within the Circle to Search interface, further cementing its role as a primary gateway for mobile information retrieval.
