Google has officially finalized its $32 billion all-cash acquisition of the Israeli cybersecurity powerhouse Wiz. This transaction, completed on March 11, 2026, represents the largest acquisition in Google’s history and concludes a high-stakes negotiation process that spanned over a year.

Strategic Integration into Google Cloud

Wiz, renowned for its advanced platform that identifies and neutralizes threats across complex cloud environments, will be integrated into the Google Cloud division. Despite the massive scale of the deal, Google confirmed that Wiz will retain its brand identity, continuing its mission to provide security solutions across all cloud infrastructures, including AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.

Winning the Multi-Cloud Enterprise Market

The acquisition is a calculated move by Google to capture a larger share of the enterprise market. As organizations increasingly adopt multi-cloud strategies, the demand for a unified security layer has become critical. By incorporating Wiz’s capabilities, Google aims to provide a comprehensive security suite that addresses vulnerabilities stemming from the rapid expansion of AI platforms and the rise of “vibe coding,” which has introduced new categories of prompt-based security risks.

From Rejected Offer to Record-Breaking Deal

The path to this $32 billion deal was not linear. In 2024, Wiz rejected an initial $23 billion acquisition bid from Google. At the time, CEO Assaf Rappaport expressed confidence in the company’s growth trajectory, a gamble that paid off as Wiz crossed $1 billion in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in 2025.

Following a resurgence in talks, the companies announced the $32 billion agreement in March 2025. The deal faced intense scrutiny from regulators, eventually securing approval from U.S. authorities in November 2025 and the European Union in February 2026, successfully navigating complex antitrust investigations.

Bolstering AI and Threat Detection

Wiz has heavily utilized AI to improve threat detection across the entire lifecycle of cloud environments—from infrastructure and code to runtime. According to an official statement from Google, this investment is designed to enable organizations to innovate faster and more securely, regardless of the underlying cloud or AI platform they choose to deploy.
