Hero Launches AI Autocomplete SDK to Slash Prompting Time – Ankor Tech

Crafting the perfect prompt for AI models is becoming a complex hurdle, leading to the rise of specialized “prompt engineering” roles. To streamline this process, productivity startup Hero, founded by former Meta employees, has officially unveiled an AI autocompletion SDK. This tool, currently available via invite-only, enables developers to integrate predictive prompt technology directly into their own applications.

Predictive Prompting: How It Works

The technology functions by anticipating user needs based on context. For instance, if a user types “Book a flight,” the SDK instantly suggests specific fields such as destination, departure date, time, airline, and return details. This significantly reduces the friction typically associated with refining AI outputs.

Beyond travel, the SDK is designed for versatility. It supports image and video generators by suggesting parameters like camera angles, artistic styles, and landscape settings. This mirrors the trend seen in tools like Adobe Firefly, which uses keyword sections to help users generate soundtracks by mood and purpose.

Efficiency and Business Impact

According to Hero engineer Saharsh Vedi, the primary goal is to eliminate the tedious back-and-forth communication between humans and AI. By providing predictive inputs, users can achieve their desired results in fewer steps—or even a single prompt.

Co-founder Brad Kowalk emphasizes that the technology uses a sophisticated series of models to predict user intent. “With AI autocomplete, we pull forward all the inputs needed to complete an action, finishing it 10 times faster,” Kowalk stated. “This unlocks new use cases in commerce, travel, ads, and customer support.”

Strategic Roots and Future Growth

The inspiration for this technology stems from the founders’ previous experience working on Augmented Reality (AR) at Meta. Given the limited screen real estate on AR hardware, they identified a clear need for simplified, parameter-driven interfaces.

The startup’s growth trajectory is supported by strong financial backing. After raising $4 million in seed funding last year, Hero recently secured an additional $3 million in a round led by Forerunner Ventures. As the company scales, it is already exploring new integrations, including a partnership with ad-tech firm Koah Labs to explore AI-powered advertising within autocomplete suggestions.

Hero is currently testing an iteration of this technology within its own productivity app, focused on scheduling meetings and social coordination, with a public release expected in the coming months.
