Life360, the prominent family safety application, has officially entered the pet technology market with the launch of its dedicated Pet GPS tracker. Designed to attach seamlessly to collars and harnesses, the device provides real-time location tracking for dogs and cats, marking a strategic expansion for the company.

A Natural Evolution for Life360
This move follows the company’s 2021 acquisition of Tile, a leader in tracking hardware. Since the merger, Life360 has successfully integrated item-finding capabilities into its ecosystem. The new Pet GPS represents a more specialized hardware solution, priced at $49.99—the most premium offering in the current Life360 lineup.
Advanced Tracking and Community Alerts
The device leverages a combination of cellular, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity to ensure high-precision tracking. When a pet leaves the home environment, the device provides location updates every 2 to 4 seconds.
Key safety features include:
- Geofencing: Allows owners to establish virtual safe zones and receive immediate escape alerts.
- Pet Finder Network: Users can broadcast lost pet alerts to the Life360 community, which boasts over 88 million members.
- Digital Profiles: Alerts include essential data such as the pet’s photo, breed, name, and emergency contact information.

Durability and Battery Performance
Engineered for active pets, the tracker carries an IP68 rating, ensuring it is dustproof, water-resistant, and capable of withstanding pet bites. The hardware is designed for longevity, featuring a battery life of up to 14 days on a single charge. Furthermore, a “Bluetooth Reserve Mode” is available to extend tracking capabilities for up to six months.
Added Functionality and Availability
Beyond location tracking, the device includes a built-in light, remotely activated via the app to assist in nighttime recovery. A chime feature also allows owners to signal their pets audibly.
The Pet GPS is currently available in navy, pink, and black. Customers in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand can purchase the device directly via Life360.com. Full functionality requires an active Gold ($14.99/month) or Platinum ($24.99/month) subscription.
