Meta officially announced on Tuesday the launch of two new Ray-Ban smart glasses models specifically engineered for prescription lens wearers. Available starting April 14, these frames provide comprehensive support for nearly all prescription requirements, catering to users who depend on smart eyewear throughout their daily routines.

Design and Availability
The new lineup debuts with a starting price of $499. Consumers can choose between two distinct styles: the Blayzer, a rectangular frame available in both standard and large sizes, and the Scriber, which features a rounded aesthetic. These models will be sold through optical retailers across the United States and selected international markets.
Meta emphasizes that these are their most ergonomic frames to date. They feature flexible overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and temple tips that opticians can customize to ensure a precise fit for any face shape.
Expanded Style Options
Beyond the new prescription-focused models, Meta is refreshing the existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta collections with new colorways and lens technologies:
- Skyler: Shiny Transparent Peach with Transitions Brown Lenses.
- Headliner: Matte Transparent Peach with Transitions Grey Lenses.
- Wayfarer: Shiny Transparent Grey with Transitions Sapphire Lenses.
The Oakley Meta Vanguard series also receives updates, including new combinations like Vanguard Black with Prizm Black Lenses, Vanguard White with Prizm Rose Gold Lenses, and various configurations for the HSTN frame, such as Light Curry with Clear to Brown Transitions Lenses.
Advanced AI Features and Utility
Meta is simultaneously upgrading the software ecosystem within its smart glasses. The new nutrition tracking feature allows users to log meals hands-free using voice commands or a quick photo. Meta AI automatically extracts nutritional data, providing personalized insights over time to support healthier dietary habits.
The company is also expanding its Early Access Program (EAP) to include WhatsApp integration. Users can now request summaries of group chats or recall specific information from messages by asking, “Hey Meta, catch me up on my messages.” Meta confirms that these interactions utilize on-device processing to ensure user privacy and maintain end-to-end encryption.
Finally, the “Neural Handwriting” feature is rolling out globally over the coming weeks. This tool enables users to reply to messages silently by tracing letters with their fingers on any physical surface, offering a discreet communication method across Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and native mobile messaging platforms.
