Nothing has officially unveiled the Phone (3), its most expensive flagship device to date. Starting at $799, the smartphone aims to challenge market leaders like the Samsung Galaxy S25, with preorders opening on July 4 and general retail availability beginning July 15.

Advanced Camera Array and Enhanced Optics

The device centers its photographic capabilities on a versatile triple 50-megapixel camera system. The primary shooter features a 1.3-inch sensor—a 20% increase in size over the Phone (2)—boasting an f/1.68 aperture for improved low-light performance. Supporting the main lens is a periscope telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom, enhanced by AI Super Res Zoom technology. An ultra-wide lens with a 114-degree field of view completes the rear setup, while the front-facing camera has received a significant boost to 50 megapixels.

Performance, Battery, and Software Longevity

Powering the flagship is a robust 5,150 mAh battery (increasing to 5,500 mAh for the Indian market), supporting 65W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Out of the box, the Phone (3) runs Nothing OS 3.5, based on Android 15. The manufacturer has committed to a strong software lifecycle, promising an upgrade to Nothing OS 4.0 (Android 16) later this year, alongside five years of OS updates and seven years of security patches.

Market Positioning and Availability

Pricing for the flagship starts at $799 for the 256GB storage configuration, reaching $899 for the 512GB model. This aggressive pricing places the device in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy S25 series.

Following its strategy to expand its footprint in the U.S. market, Nothing confirmed that the Phone (3) will be widely available through its official website and Amazon. This marks a shift from the company’s earlier reliance on restrictive beta programs for its budget-tier hardware, signaling a move toward broader consumer accessibility for its premium lineup.
