Enhanced Hardware and Wearability

The NotePin S refines the original pin-style design introduced in 2024. A significant hardware upgrade includes a dedicated physical button, allowing users to start or stop recordings instantly. Much like the recently launched Plaud Note Pro, users can tap this button during a session to mark specific moments for later review.

Priced at $179, the device emphasizes versatility. Each package includes a clip, lanyard, magnetic pin, and wristband, offering multiple ways to wear the device. Furthermore, the integration of Apple Find My support ensures users can easily locate the unit if it is misplaced.

Technical Specifications and Performance

While the NotePin S is optimized for portability, it retains the robust core specifications of its predecessor:

  • Storage: 64GB of onboard capacity.
  • Battery Life: Up to 20 hours of continuous recording.
  • Audio Capture: Dual MEMS microphones with a clear recording range of 9.8 feet.
  • Transcription: Users receive 300 minutes of free monthly transcription services.

Though the NotePin S features a shorter range and lower battery capacity compared to the flagship Note Pro, its smaller form factor makes it an ideal choice for professionals who are constantly on the move.

Expanding into Desktop Meeting Intelligence

Having sold over 1.5 million units, Plaud is now shifting its focus beyond in-person hardware to compete directly with digital meeting assistants like Granola, Fathom, and Fireflies. The new desktop client is engineered to detect active meetings across various platforms, automatically prompting users to initiate transcription.

The Mac-compatible application utilizes system audio to capture meeting content, leveraging AI to structure raw transcripts into organized notes. Additionally, the desktop software incorporates multimodal input functionality, allowing users to augment audio transcriptions with typed notes and images, mirroring the capabilities introduced in the company’s mobile app last year.
