RevenueCat and Paddle Partner to Bypass App Store Fees – Ankor Tech

Infrastructure providers Paddle and RevenueCat have launched a strategic integration allowing app developers to process payments outside of Apple’s ecosystem. Announced this Tuesday, the partnership provides a robust alternative to traditional in-app purchases, enabling developers to capture revenue directly via web and mobile platforms following recent U.S. legal shifts.

Streamlining Cross-Platform Monetization

The new technical integration bridges the gap between web-based transactions and mobile application access. Paddle manages the complexities of web payments, including global tax compliance and transaction processing, while RevenueCat unifies subscription data across web, iOS, and Android environments.

This synchronization ensures that users who subscribe on one platform gain immediate, seamless access to their content across all devices. Developers can monitor these transactions in real-time through a centralized RevenueCat dashboard, eliminating the fragmentation often associated with multi-platform deployments.

Legal Precedent for Web Payments

This shift follows a critical ruling by District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers during the Epic Games v. Apple antitrust litigation. While Apple avoided a monopoly designation, the court mandated that the company must allow developers to provide links to external web payment options, effectively bypassing Apple’s commission fees for those transactions.

Real-World Application and Scaling

Early adopters, such as the fitness application Runna, are already utilizing this dual-provider model to optimize monetization. The collaboration aims to remove the operational friction that typically discourages developers from expanding beyond the restrictive walls of traditional app stores.

“There’s a huge opportunity for subscription apps to grow revenue by expanding to the web — but that shift brings new technical and operational challenges,” noted Jimmy Fitzgerald, CEO of Paddle. By integrating with RevenueCat—which currently supports over 70,000 applications—the partnership provides a scalable framework for developers to regain control over their monetization strategies and user relationships.
