Apple has officially introduced AppleCare One, a new subscription service priced at $19.99 per month that provides comprehensive protection for up to three devices under a single plan. Launched this Thursday in the United States, the offering aims to simplify device insurance while providing significant cost savings for users managing multiple Apple products.
Maximizing Value for Apple Ecosystem Users
The primary advantage of AppleCare One lies in its consolidated billing and coverage structure. By bundling protection for three devices—such as a MacBook Pro, an iPhone, and an Apple Watch—users bypass the need for multiple, separate AppleCare+ subscriptions. This model effectively lowers the total monthly expenditure for customers who previously paid for individual plans.
According to Apple, the service is strictly tied to the user’s Apple Account. Only devices registered under the primary account holder are eligible for coverage under the AppleCare One umbrella.
Flexibility and New Theft and Loss Options
Apple remains committed to individual device protection, noting that the traditional AppleCare+ plans will continue to be available for users who only require coverage for a single device.
Furthermore, the company is expanding its protective scope. The new Theft and Loss coverage, previously limited in scope, will now be integrated into AppleCare One. This feature will also be available as an add-on for customers choosing standalone AppleCare+ plans for their iPad or Apple Watch, addressing a long-standing demand for higher-tier security on portable hardware.
How to Subscribe
AppleCare One is available for sign-up starting today. Consumers can activate the subscription through several channels:
- Directly via the settings menu on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
- In-person at any Apple Store location.
This rollout marks a strategic shift for Apple as it moves toward a more unified services model, incentivizing users to maintain a cohesive ecosystem of devices under a single, streamlined protection plan.
