The relentless demand for short-form video on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube has pushed creators to a breaking point. To survive the algorithm, creators are struggling to maintain volume without sacrificing quality. Seeking to solve this, Jay Neo—a former content lead for MrBeast—has teamed up with former Palantir engineer Shivam Kumar and creator Harry Jones to launch Palo, an AI-powered platform designed to streamline ideation and analytics for professional creators.

Data-Driven Creativity: Beyond the “MrBeast” Formula
During his tenure at MrBeast, Neo became obsessed with the mechanics of viewer retention. His deep-dive analysis into why audiences drop off led to the creation of viral hits, including the famous baguette-in-Paris video, which amassed over 1.8 billion views. After leaving in 2023, Neo scaled his own “Creaky” branding to over a billion monthly views, a process that convinced him that content success is less about luck and more about repeatable data loops.
Palo aims to replicate this methodology for other creators. The platform functions as a “co-pilot,” integrating a creator’s social accounts to analyze video performance. By extracting data on hooks, audience sentiment, and interest topics, the tool builds a unique “persona” for the creator, ensuring that AI-generated suggestions remain authentic to their specific style.

How the Palo Ecosystem Functions
Palo is built on three core pillars: AI-driven ideation, performance analytics, and community networking. According to CTO Shivam Kumar, the platform utilizes a “cocktail” of top-tier Large Language Models (LLMs) to transform raw video data into structured, actionable insights.
Creators can interact with the system via a conversational chatbot to ask questions about their performance or request script drafts. For visual-heavy creators, the tool can generate storyboards and suggest specific hooks based on past successful metrics. The company is currently opening access to creators with at least 100,000 followers, with pricing tiers starting at $250 per month.

Backing and Industry Impact
Palo has secured $3.8 million in funding, led by Peak XV’s Surge, with participation from NFX. Investors like Josh Constine view the tool as a vital defense against the “brain rot” of endless content consumption. By automating the research phase, Palo helps creators avoid the procrastination and writer’s block that often precede burnout.
While the tension between AI and creators remains high, Neo emphasizes that Palo is not meant to replace human intuition. “Good videos will still come out of gut feelings,” Neo stated. The goal is to provide a structured advantage similar to how a comedian iterates on stage material, using audience reaction data to refine performance over time. As creator Sambucha (Sam Beres) noted, the success of such tools depends on deep integration with creators’ actual needs—a standard Palo aims to set as it moves beyond its initial testing phase with 40 major creators.
