Amazon Music has officially launched a new AI-powered feature enabling users in the United States to browse and discover podcast episodes by specific topics. The update, available immediately on iOS and Android, aims to streamline how listeners engage with long-form audio content.

Advanced Topic Discovery for Top Podcasts

The new functionality is rolling out across a selection of high-profile podcasts, including The Daily, SmartLess, and This American Life. By leveraging AI to categorize content, Amazon Music intends to simplify the search process, allowing users to find relevant segments within episodes rather than relying solely on show titles or general descriptions.

The company confirmed that it plans to aggressively expand the coverage of this “Topics” feature. This roadmap includes indexing a broader array of podcast content to provide users with a more comprehensive list of related episodes and granular search results.

Building on the Maestro AI Ecosystem

This release follows the earlier introduction of Maestro, an AI-driven playlist generator that allows users to create custom musical collections through text prompts. Maestro entered its beta phase this past April, signaling Amazon’s deepening commitment to generative AI within its audio streaming ecosystem.

Strategic Tech Integration

The shift toward smarter audio discovery is a direct result of Amazon’s strategic acquisition of Snackable AI, an audio content discovery engine, finalized last year. By integrating Snackable AI’s proprietary technology, Amazon is positioning its platform to better compete in the crowded podcasting market through improved searchability and user-centric content curation.
