Apple has officially expanded the capabilities of its Apple Sports application, integrating comprehensive tennis coverage just in time for Wimbledon. Alongside this addition, the company announced on Wednesday a significant redesign of the app’s home screen to streamline how users track their favorite leagues and teams.
Real-Time Tennis Tracking
The update introduces deep integration for tennis enthusiasts, offering live scoring for both Grand Slam and 1000-level tournaments. Users can now monitor every point across men’s and women’s singles matches with precision. The functionality extends beyond simple scoreboards, allowing fans to follow individual player progress throughout entire tournament brackets, from the opening rounds through to the finals.

Redesigned Interface for Better Navigation
Apple’s revamped home screen focuses on personalization and logical grouping. Matchups and events are now categorized by league, displayed according to the user’s specific preferences. To ensure vital information is always accessible, the app prioritizes a user’s favorite teams at the top of the interface, providing an immediate overview of the latest scores and match updates.
Growing Ecosystem of Sports Coverage
Since its launch in February 2024, Apple Sports has aggressively expanded its database. Following a major update last August that introduced football scores and Live Activities, the platform now covers a vast array of global competitions. The app remains available to users in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
The current roster of supported leagues and sports includes:
- Soccer: Bundesliga, Champions League, Conference League, EFL Championship, Europa League, FA Cup, LaLiga, League Cup, LIGA MX, Ligue 1, MLS, Premier League, Serie A, and NWSL.
- Basketball: NBA, WNBA, Men’s College Basketball, and Women’s College Basketball.
- American Football: NFL, plus FBS and FCS NCAA College Football.
- Baseball: MLB.
- Hockey: NHL.
